What is non-surgical cheek augmentation?
The non-surgical, non invasive cheek augmentation and reshaping involves the use of a dermal filler injected to reshape and contour the cheek to achieve a natural aesthetic appearance, in a quick, safe and effective out-patient treatment.
Who is a good candidate for cheek augmentation?
Anyone who desires an improvement in the size, contour and shape of the cheeks may be suitable for this non-surgical treatment. Patients with a flattened or poor mid face shape can improve the balance of their face with this treatment. Cheek Augmentation is a fantastic subtle treatment that restores lost volume.
How long do the results last?
The dermal filler we use for this treatment has been exclusively formulated to restore contour and volume in the cheeks. It will provide long lasting improvement for approximately 12-18 months. Repeat treatments are recommended every 12 months to maintain the desired shape.
How is cheek augmentation treatment performed?
After a consultation will determine the goals of treatment, make note of any symmetry and plan the optimum non-surgical cheek augmentation to achieve the ideal result in each patient. A specialist dermal filler, especially for cheek augmentation is injected into the cheeks to improve the shape, profile, projection and symmetry.
Will I experience any discomfort during the treatment? How about bruising?
Minimal discomfort is expected during the treatment. Bruising is a risk with any injectable treatment. Any mild bruising will usually resolve within 10-14 days. Your cheeks may feel mildly tender for the first 3 – 5 days. Most of our patients are surprised to experience virtually no discomfort at all.
When will results be seen after cheek augmentation?
Improvement in the shape and projection of the cheeks will be seen immediately following non-surgical cheek augmentation and will be subtle, no need to worry about the “Pete Burns” effect, or looking like a hamster! Any swelling or bruising will resolve within 14-30 days and is usually very mild.
Will I experience any side effects from the treatment?
Side effects from this treatment are mild and usually include injection-related side effects such as slight redness and mild bruising, swelling and tenderness. Generally, these side effects dissipate within a few hours or days.
How much time is needed and can I go on with my day following treatment?
Typically the treatment is complete in 20-30 minutes. Most people feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately following their appointment. Make-up may be applied after 24 hours.
